storytelling

Yarn are illustrations for documentary stories of displaced people who in difficult times knitted warm things to cope with life's challenges. They knitted for those who were in the cold in the war, for their loved ones who were far away, and for themselves who felt lost, pulling the thread of life and continuing to weave so that their family story would not be interrupted. The illustrations were commissioned for the Warm as at Home project. All photos were bought from a vintage store in West Philadelphia.

The Trip collection are digital illustrations for my blog about the travels of the artist David Burlyuk, who immigrated to the United States from Ukraine at the beginning of the 20th century, and during his travels had a significant impact on the futuristic art of Russia, Japan, and eventually America.
