camelot

As I drink my morning coffee, I picture King Arthur’s Camelot and his noble Knights of the Round Table. I imagine a castle filled with beautiful women in gorgeous gowns inspiring the knights to great deeds.

The White House and the idealized belief of what the world could be when John F. Kennedy was president is another mythologized Camelot. Jackie Kennedy was a style icon that inspired a nation. It is another era remembered for its optimism.

Camelot is a series of collages made by hand-tearing pieces of paper from vintage magazines in the 1960s. Objects from a single news cycle or publication are collaged together to create a single snapshot of seemingly private events becoming public.
